Built for merchants who deserve better tools.
Soko started with a simple observation: running a business in Africa is hard, and the software available made it harder. We set out to fix that — one merchant at a time.

Our purpose
Give every merchant a fair shot at modern commerce.
Our mission
Reduce the time merchants spend fighting their own tools.
We believe a merchant should be thinking about customers and products — not reconciling three spreadsheets against a broken point of sale. Soko replaces the patchwork with one steady system.
One system
Storefront, payments, inventory, and reporting all connected from day one.
Real clarity
Clean dashboards built around the decisions merchants actually need to make.
Local-first
M-PESA, Airtel Money, and the delivery patterns your customers already expect.
Room to grow
From a single shop to multi-location, the platform grows without friction.
What guides us
The principles behind every product decision we make.
We measure ourselves against whether merchants can run their business better — not whether the feature list is longer.
Built around the merchant
Every feature starts with how real merchants actually work — not how a product team imagines they do.
Accessible from day one
No engineering team needed. No long onboarding cycles. Soko is designed to get merchants live fast and stay manageable.
Reliability over flash
We focus on the workflows that keep a business running — payments, stock, orders — and make them dependable.
Africa-native by design
From mobile money to local delivery patterns, Soko is built for the commerce realities of African markets.
Clarity over complexity
We cut what merchants do not need and sharpen what they use daily. A calmer dashboard means better decisions.
Growth that does not break things
Whether you have 10 orders a week or 1,000, the same platform holds. Scaling should not mean starting over.

Why we started
Commerce in Africa deserved software built for it.
The tools available to merchants in African markets were built elsewhere, for different contexts, with different assumptions. Payments, logistics, and customer behaviour worked differently here — and the software did not reflect that.
Soko was built from that gap. Not as a clone of a Western product, but as an original system for the way commerce actually happens in this market.
Mobile-first order and payment flows
Inventory synced across walk-in and online channels
Reports designed for daily merchant decisions
Desktop and mobile ready
